Ariana & Evans Fact Sheet & Frequently Asked Questions

Who We Are

Ariana & Evans is a small, family-owned brand led by Peter, Thalia & Evelyn. We believe luxury should be accessible to everyone, not just the elite. Our philosophy is simple: We don’t follow tradition or the norm. Our fragrances are born from the beauty and grit of the world, created to be personal, evocative, and just rebellious enough to break free from the expected.

Our Products

  • Originality First: Every Ariana & Evans parfum is created in-house. These are original works, crafted through inspiration, creativity, and our personal stories.

  • Quality and Safety: We have earned EU Certification, one of the most rigorous fragrance and cosmetic approvals in the world. This means our formulations meet strict standards for transparency, allergen disclosure, and safety. Very few US artisans go through this process.

  • Performance You Can Trust: Our shaving soaps and creams are formulated for exceptional lather, glide, and skin feel. Unlike many mainstream options, we don’t use unnecessary additives or artificial dyes. What you see is natural and authentic.

Our Values

  • Transparency: We have openly shared our formulations, how each product is made and what goes into them.

  • Integrity: We don’t cut corners or pass off imitations as originals. What you buy from us is what you expected to buy.

  • Sustainability: We care about being eco-friendly and making responsible choices wherever possible. We will be 97% plastic free by moving all plastic containers to glass and aluminum in 2026. This transition has started.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you provide samples?

We now offer samples of our parfums. At this time, we do not provide samples of our shaving soaps. The truth is that making soap samples takes more time than creating a full jar. As a small family business, we need to focus our efforts where they matter most. The good news is that retailers like Maggard Razors and The Razor Company carry our shaving soap samples.

Has Ariana & Evans received any certifications?

Yes. We have completed the rigorous and costly process of EU Certification. This allows us to sell our products in Europe and confirms that our formulations & fragrance materials, meet strict safety standards. We even had to provide details on what type of plastic was used for our aftershave caps. Very few US artisans have gone through this process.

Why doesn’t my shaving cream arrive flat like the soap?

Our shaving cream is creamy, not solid, which means it can shift in transit. If a jar is stored on its side or upside down, especially in warmer months, the cream may move to one side. This is completely normal and does not affect the quality.

Why are some soaps tan or darkening?

It is completely natural for soaps like Choco Cubano, Novelist, Tobacco Vanille, Corinthian Leather and a couple others to change color over time. This happens because vanillin, a natural compound found in vanilla and other plants, reacts with air and light. The process is the same as vanilla beans darkening as they age.

Other brands often add colorants to keep their soaps looking bright white. We do not. We choose to keep our soaps free from artificial dyes and additives, which means what you see is authentic and natural.

My tracking number says delivered but I don’t have my order.

This happens more often than we would like, especially with USPS. In most cases, the package arrives within a day or two. It is frustrating, but it usually works itself out quickly and your package shows up.

Are any of your perfumes dupes or inspired by other fragrances?

No. None of the perfumes we sell on this site are dupes. Every Ariana & Evans parfum are created by Thalia and Peter. Our fragrances are inspired by moods, memories, and creativity, not copies of existing perfumes.

That said, a small number of our entry-level shaving creams and soaps are inspired by well-known fragrances. These are always clearly labeled as such and offered for the wet shaving community, where familiar scents are often enjoyed, especially by newcomers.

What is the difference between cologne, EDT, EDP, and extrait de parfum?

Eau de Cologne (EDC)
2 to 4 percent fragrance oils. Lasts up to 2 hours. Light, refreshing, often citrusy or herbal. Traditionally inexpensive and sold in larger bottles because of its lower concentration.

Eau de Toilette (EDT)
5 to 15 percent fragrance oils. Lasts 2 to 4 hours. Lighter than an EDP with higher alcohol content. Popular for daily wear.

Eau de Parfum (EDP)
15 to 20 percent fragrance oils. Lasts 4 to 8 hours. Stronger and longer-lasting than an EDT with a good balance of intensity and wearability.

Extrait de Parfum (Pure Perfume)
20 to 50 percent fragrance oils. Lasts up to 24 hours or more. The richest concentration, long-lasting and evolving beautifully on the skin with warmth and depth.

How can I make my fragrance last longer?

Fragrance lasts differently for everyone depending on skin type and PH levels. To extend longevity, apply fragrance after a shower and on moisturized skin. Spray on pulse points such as the neck, behind the ears, and wrists. A light spritz on hair works beautifully too. A small dab of vaseline under fragrance can lock in scent for hours. Spraying on clothes also helps, though darker perfumes may stain fabric, so always test first.

What is the difference between indie and niche perfumes?

Niche usually refers to how a fragrance is sold. Niche perfumes are often available only in smaller boutiques or online and highlight unique or unconventional scents.

Indie refers to who owns the brand. Indie perfumes are created by independent owners or small teams rather than large corporations. These fragrances are often more daring, unique and thought provoking.

What do top, middle, and base notes mean?

Top notes are the first scents you smell right after applying a fragrance. They are light and fade quickly, often citrus or fresh herbs.

Middle notes, also called heart notes, appear once the top notes fade. They form the main body of the fragrance and are often floral, spicy, or woody.

Base notes are the longest lasting. They emerge later and add depth and richness, with common notes like amber, musk, tobacco, and woods.

Does a higher price mean higher quality perfume?

Not always. Most raw fragrance ingredients come from just a few large companies, which means many perfume houses source from the same suppliers. Price differences are often due to marketing, packaging, and exclusivity rather than raw material quality.

Should perfumes be made with only natural ingredients? Why are synthetics used?

Not necessarily. Synthetics are essential to modern perfumery. They balance natural ingredients, enhance complexity, and allow perfumers to create scents not found in nature. They also make perfumery more sustainable by protecting forests, animals, and natural resources.

Some natural ingredients are restricted for safety, while synthetics can recreate them safely and responsibly. Far from being low quality, synthetics are what make perfumery an art and a science. They have been part of the finest fragrances for more than 150 years.
