Daniele Maullu Legacy Shaving Soap by ariana & evans
Daniele's barbering journey commenced in 2010, mentored by his father, Emanuele Maullu, a lifelong barber who imparted the craft to him. They launched their inaugural barbershop, Gentleman Barber Shop, in Rome in 2016, which was met with resounding success. By 2024, Daniele's brother, Davide Maullu, had joined the venture, prompting a rebranding to "Barberia Maullu" in homage to their lineage.
Daniele inaugurated a second establishment, "Barberia Tondere," in Rome's pulsing center in 2022, which became our regular rendezvous point. In 2024, he also pioneered "Il Mvnda Rasvm," Rome's first traditional shaving festival, celebrating the craft's artistry and heritage, drawing together aficionados, experts & industry leading manufacturers in a shared passion.
Presently, Daniele is on a global quest to explore the world's most extraordinary barbershops. His ambition is to unearth and relay these gems to the community, fostering a culture of exchange and honoring one of history's most enduring trades. Despite his humility, Daniele stands as one of the world's most celebrated barbers, boasting a TikTok following of 2.3 million. His barbershops exude elegance, class, and sophistication, reflecting the essence of our 'Legacy' collaboration.
During gathering in Rome earlier this year, Daniele proposed a partnership to craft a bespoke soap. This marked the inception of our collaborative effort. He set forth specific aspirations, challenging me to devise a 'legacy' soap akin to MdC, timeless in its appeal. Additionally, he requested an Oud-scented creation for this joint venture. Considering his profession, I suggested our first fragrance be a quintessential barbershop aroma. Ultimately, we conceived a distinguished scent, a fusion of our collective vision, encapsulated in the novel Legacy base.
Although the label displays 200 grams, each glass jar is filled with 220-230 grams of Legacy Shaving Soap.

Wow! Perhaps the best shaving experience I’ve had so far. Dense, rich lather with tons of cushion and glide. Sophisticated scent but not overly so. LOVE this soap!

Peter and the entire crew at A&E knocked this one out of the park. Legacy is by far my favorite base. I really like their take on the classic barbershop scent with Oud. Very clean and masculine. I highly recommend this. Both you (and your nose) will be pleased with your purchase.

I recently gave A&Es Maullu and Stateside Sonata a spin, and these two couldnt be more different, yet equally impressive.
Maullu is like stepping into a sunny citrus grove with a backdrop of warm, earthy woods. Its refreshing, smooth, and feels like a mini-vacation for your skin. The lather is thick, the glide is fantastic, and it leaves your face feeling like it just got a spa treatment. Clean, rich, and a touch sophisticated.
On the other hand, Stateside Sonata is a scent adventure all its own. It blends the crispness of New England apple orchards with the fresh, salty air of Californias coast. Theres even a hint of bonfire and redwood, giving it that perfect outdoorsy vibe. Its a well-balanced, approachable scent that brings a little East Coast meets West Coast charm to your shave. Lathering it up feels like youre stepping outside on a cool autumn day, ready for anything.
Both soaps are easy to lather, perform beautifully, and bring something unique to the table. Highly recommend them for anyone looking to elevate their shave game!
Legacy is the Alpha over all others. The best soap base and splash I have ever experienced. Its a wonderfully classy and refined scent. The packaging and presentation is top notch!

Great scent, incredible performance from the base. Legacy is on another level, you don't need much and it takes a lot of water. Price is more than right for the amount you get and the presentation is luxurious.

I received my Maullu Legacy shave soap and aftersplash today. I thoroughly enjoyed a 3 pass shave with the rich lather and amazing aroma this soap provides. I can only add to the very long list of 5 star reviews. The scent is fantastic, and the soap performance is all that we have come to know from A&E. I followed my shave up with the Maullu Aftershave splash and I am not kidding when I say, my GF could not keep her hands off of me. She loved it, and by circumstantial happenstance, I received all the pleasures these amazing aromas can evoke. The soap and aftershave splash performance is a solid ten across the board. I don't imagine a day when this combo is not available to be called upon in my shave den. Scent is such a personal preference, but this scent is so fresh I can't imagine anyone being adverse to it. For me, this scent via soap and aftersplash will always be available in my shave den, and I will go to it quite often. The Maullu Legacy soap and aftershave splash is truly a one-two punch for the ages. Love it!

Imagine being transported straight to a barber shop. The silky smooth lather and a fresh clean scent that pleases every single time. That’s this soap, this is by far my favorite soap that I have used from A&E.
Exactly what I was hoping for! An exceptional aroma. This made me genuinely nostalgic of going to the local barbershop from the little farm town I grew up in. Also, luxuriously moisturizing with a beautifully thick and silky lather. Cannot recommend more.
The fragrance is very nuanced. Unable to say what it reminds me of other than saying it is masculine which is nice. The soap is very smooth, lathers great and provides a great coverage.
Beautiful smell, and a very rich lather. Quality shave soap comes in a beautiful limitrd edition boss and glass jar. Truly when its on the face, and you shave, it makes the experience so much smoother. Afterwards leaving your face smooth and moisturzed. Would recommend smyone to buy this

Whenever I try a new shaving soap for the 1st time I always use my Simpson’s Chubby #2 shaving brush. It is everything as you described, notably the thick creamy lather. It may not foam like MDC, but you get a well structured thick creamy lather that doesn’t breakdown between passes. It has a pleasant mild scent which adds a nice touch to the shaving experience. I’ll be ordering another jar for my son as he has become a wet shaver and I always want him to experience the best.

I have nothing to add that has not already been said but I wanted to leave a 5-star review anyways. This soap is fantastic and, I think, the best you can find on the market. It jar is filled to the brim with soap and it smells great - like a traditional barbershop with a little hint of oud to make it unique. A&E's Ultima and Ultima 2 are so good, but this is maybe just a step above them. Highly recommend.

I follow Daniele on TikTok and have always enjoyed his videos. The man knows his stuff. When he said he was releasing his own shave soap, I knew I had to have it. It did NOT disappoint. Lathered up so well and left my face feeling good. I use a preshave gel and along with this shave soap, I honestly believe it was closest shave ever...and that's with a used blade. Also the packaging is LEGIT. You immediately feel like you have something extremely important in your hands. The jar is FILLED to the top. This is gonna last me a while. I'm ready for weeks of great shaves, feeling good, and smelling GREAT. 10/10
